I can smell it. Can you? It's Fall creeping its damp, brown toes into the corners of our mornings. I spent the better part of my summer living in my old man Levi cut-offs, loose tanks, and ugly heeled shoes. Now I have to consider adding tights and a cardigan, or egad, pants to the mix. I'm pissed. My options:
- move to a perenially sunny climate (and age like an iguana because I simply can't say no to the sun)
- never go outside, or at least not until next spring / summer
- add to above, watch only summer based movies and sit next to a UV light box
- suck it up and layer
I suppose it's time to suck it up. Here's how I'm going to accomplish that.
1. Buy a really perfect cardigan that feels like baby angels spun the yarn from the very hair on the tops of their sweet little heads.

2. Locate a very large, printed silk scarf and see how many different ways I can tie it up. I almost never buy a scarf new. Ladies toss out scarves like last month's Vogue, so check out your local thrift store.

3. Buy some tights that induce delirious happiness when I wear them.

4. Re-integrate boots into my daily looks, as this always makes me happy and is the best part of cooler weather.

5. Mom says to wear a jacket, so I will. This one looks like a hug.

And finally, stock up on spicy tea and classic movies, and see if you can get your summer fling to be your autumn snuggle partner.
